I feel like this is so expensive… they have like 20 people on staff making planters?
What’s this run like $500/person?

I’m disappointed that they have that many people excited about their stupid gimmick. 5 out of 5 submission, OP.

How many people choke on the soup after trying to suck it through a 1” wide straw?

Who doesn’t want to shove their face into a plant to eat?

I am far too poor to understand this.

I mean… I guess since our sense of smell is so important to our perception of flavor, it’s not a terrible idea. But there’s no good reason to do it up so much, and I can guarantee they’re charging ungodly amounts.

Ahahaha. This was posted in the sub a couple days ago and the NOMA stans got very upset.

They did pipe shit. They poured it from a cup.

I love this. It’s not conventional. It’s not cost effective. But it is not stupid. Actual thought went into this, and even if it’s not for everyone, you can’t say that something this thought out is “stupid”.

For what it’s worth Noma has been rated the world’s best restaurant more than once.

Nah, not drinking anything that is so close to mud. I also feel like through that process… there’s gonna be some dirt in my soup.

That’s great, Joseph. I make soup in a dented pan that’s 30 years old, permanently grime-stained, in huge batches and freeze some of it in Ziploc bags for later eating. Hey, I’ve never eaten it from a plant, but sometimes I like to put some ramen packets on top and pretend I’m eating real vegetables. You ever eat soup with a ramen packet on top, Joseph? You ever been as close to a soup as you could be without gettin’ soup on your face, Joseph? Joseph? Have you, Joseph? Have you?

I’m fine with this as an experience. At least they aren’t knocking the board every two seconds with a dull knife.

I had dinner like this at a restaurant in France once. It cost $350 per person. It took 4 hours. Multiple weirdly sized and bizarrely arranged courses.
Best dining ******experience****** of my life. Zero regrets about the cost.
It’s not for everyone, as the all the negative comments demonstrate, but that’s ok. People can enjoy different things.
To conclude my TED talk: a hearty fuck off to all the gatekeepers on either side of these types of conversations. That includes the pretentious rich food people and the pretentious “everyman” food people.

Seems ok, I’m not paying more than $7 for potato soup though.

That would be $100 for your plant soup.

That…wasn’t piping, it was pouring.

Best meal of my life was at a Nobu… did not pay for it.
